Silt Mat / Product Specifications
The Silt Mat is an inlet protection device used to cover a drainage inlet during the course of construction. Silt Mat comes complete with an excelsior (curled wood) erosion control blanket that effectively slows water flow into the drainage inlet while preventing the silt and debris from entering the drainage inlet.
The Silt Mat has a high visibility “chimney” structure in its center that protects the drainage inlet from damage by vehicles and a built-in overflow capability that prevents ponding.
Operation and Maintenance
Maintenance requirements vary with the application.
Slope-Gard™ 3 should be inspected before and after every rain event.
During extended rains, the device should be inspected every 24 hours.
The silt and debris should be removed when the depth exceeds three inches and disposed.
