SlopeGard™2 / Product Specifications
SlopeGard™ 2 filter rolls are intended for placement at the toe of a slope on construction sites or in areas subject to erosion to prevent sediment from entering the storm drain system or environmentally sensitive areas. They may be used in the same manner as fiber rolls to slow sheet flow to allow sedimentation, or to transfer sheet flow to channeled flow, but are reusable and longer lasting than traditional fiber rolls.
SlopeGard™ 2 filter rolls have an inner core of perforated tubing contained in a black woven polypropylene filter fabric with an attachment apron. SlopeGard™ 2 should be in installed in accordance with Kristar’s standard detail (see drawings).
SlopeGard™ 2 is used at the toe of slopes, or as check dams or coffer dams in channels, and as sediment basin berms in place of cloth silt fence, rock or fiber rolls (wattles). SlopeGard™ 2 reduces runoff velocity, channeling flow along its length to an outlet and to control or capture eroded sediment. SlopeGard™ 2 is lighter and easier to handle and install than straw bales or cloth fences.
