FloGard® Dewatering Bag / Product Specifications
The FloGard® Dewatering Bag is an outlet protection device used to filter sediment from a pump discharge when dewatering a trench or similar excavation in the course of construction. The Dewatering Bag comes complete with two 3” connections: one an inlet and the other may be tied off or used to connect multiple Dewatering Bags in series. This product is available in both single use or multiple use models. The latter includes a zippered access to allow sediment to be removed after use, and may be reused 2-3 times.
The Dewatering Bag should be securely connected to the discharge hose of a throttled dewatering pump such that water is allowed to slowly percolate the bag over a number of hours.
Operation and Maintenance
Maintenance requirements vary with the application.
FloGard® Dewatering Bag should be monitored during pumping for decrease in flow through the bag.
When the flow decreases significantly and either silt begins to pass through or the pump seems to be laboring intensely, stop pumping and dispose of collected silt.
A single use FloGard® Dewatering Bag can be disposed of appropriately.
A reusable bag can be zipped open, sediment removed and disposed of appropriately, then closed again for reuse.
